THAI HOC AREA

Thai Hoc Area was built in 2000 on the former grounds of the ancient Quoc Tu Giam. These are structures with new functions designed in a traditional architectural style, comprising the Front Hall (Tien Duong), the Rear Hall (Hau Duong), the Left Wing, the Right Wing, the Bell House, the Drum House, the East Gate and the West Gate.

The Front Hall serves as a venue for commemorating historical figures, hosting academic conferences, exhibitions, and traditional cultural and artistic activities. The Rear Hall consists of 2 floors: the ground floor houses a worshipping statue of teacher Chu Van An, who served as the Rector of Quoc Tu Giam, and features a permanent exhibition on "The History of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam and Vietnam's Education and Examination System."

The second floor of the Rear Hall is dedicated to the worship of 3 kings who contributed to the founding of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam and to the development of Confucian culture and education in Viet Nam: King Ly Thanh Tong (1023–1072), King Ly Nhan Tong (1066–1128), and King Le Thanh Tong (1442–1497).
