DAI THANH AREA

The fourth spatial layer is the Dai Thanh Palace Area. At its center lies the Dai Bai courtyard. Two rows of buildings on the east and west sides run along either side of the courtyard. The front building is the Bai Duong, where ceremonies worshipping Khong Tu were historically held. Behind the Bai Duong stands the Dai Thanh Palace.

The Bai Duong features stone steps and a brick floor, divided into 9 bays with ironwood columns supporting the roof. The roof is covered with curved tiles, with "twin dragons facing the sun and moon" decorations on the ridge. On both sides of the gable bays at the front and back are wooden lattice windows, below which are early Le Dynasty wooden bas-relief carvings depicting cloud and sword dragons.

The Dai Thanh Palace runs parallel to the Bai Duong, connected by a small pavilion. The Dai Thanh Palace consists of 9 bays, with walls enclosing three sides. The 7 central bays have solid panel doors, while the 2 gable bays feature fixed lattice windows reflecting the Later Le Dynasty architectural style. The entire column system supporting the roof is lacquered red and gilded with gold. The roof is covered with curved tiles, and the ridge is also decorated with twin dragons facing the sun and moon.

The Dai Thanh Palace is dedicated to the worship of Khong Tu, the Four Companions and the Ten Philosophers. The central bay houses a statue of Khong Tu, facing south, behind which stands a worship shrine bearing a tablet.
